Policy of “Smart Baggage” on aircraft


Thank you for flying with Vanilla Air Inc.

From January 15th 2018, on Vanilla Air handling of “Smart Baggage” on the aircraft as the following.

■Applicable Flight
All Flights operated by Vanilla Air (Domestic and International)

■About Smart Baggage
Baggage equipped with a lithium battery, other than lithium button cells.
・ For example, baggage equipped with a lithium battery for charging other devices or baggage which activates GPS information or electronic tags.
・ Each installed battery must not exceed the following;
For lithium metal or lithium alloy batteries, a lithium content of not more than 2g or, for lithium ion batteries, a watt-hour rating of not more than 160Wh.

■Handling policy
For handling it will be as follows.
・ The battery can be removed from the baggage
Can be carried out with both checked in and carried on in the cabin.
  ※When bringing in the cabin, please check the size and weight of carried on baggage.
  ※If the baggage is carried in the cabin, the lithium battery is removed from the baggage and the lithium battery must be carried in the cabin.
・ The battery cannot be removed from the baggage
If the battery cannot be removed from the baggage, the baggage is prohibited to checked in nor carried on.
